We are privileged to serve the work of the Sarah Dorairaj Memorial Trust which provides micro loans to needy women in Chennai. Here are some of the 250 women who are benefiting from the micro-loans from SDMT.
Each member of the group has received a loan of Rs 5000/- which they have invested in different ways. All of them have seen some increase in their weekly income, and they expect to see even more at the end of 6 months when their loans are repaid. The weekly repayment of the loan amounts to Rs 230/- each. The group meets once a week to repay their loans and also to receive instruction and guidance. Each meeting starts with prayer.
